INTERNATIONAL
Sharing community experiences that transcend cultures and borders
Hand2Mouth’s International Program is one part cross-cultural ensemble exchange and one part community engagement team that produces local programming and uplifts local voices wherever we go. Hand2Mouth’s innovative cultural diplomacy program teaches theatre, storytelling, filmmaking and community interviewing skills through free workshops and performances around the world — all co-led by a collaboration between acclaimed U.S. and local teaching artists — with support from the U.S. Department of State and other local, national international funders.
These creative trainings share unheard stories and spark intergenerational conversations with a focus on community cohesion, social inclusion and tools for transforming conflict.
The International Program also hosts visiting emerging leaders, creatives and change makers who are in the U.S. from across the globe as a creative work placement and home away from home. These Fellows come for short stays, joining H2M’s educational and creative projects for their work placement after winning one of several highly competitive Cultural Diplomacy exchange programs. Their vibrant energy, expertise and cultural and personal background and interests enrich H2M’s artists, staff and our wider community during their stay, starting a cross-cultural friendship and creative relationship for the years ahead.
