This collaboration brings U.S. and Indonesian theatre artists together to co-lead workshops for collectives of young Indonesians on Kalimantan (also known as Borneo) Island to learn creative problem solving techniques, using theatre and storytelling to persevere and celebrate their cultural heritage through community interviews and shared story telling.

The participants will be in three cities in the Central and Eastern regions of Kalimantan. Sangatta, Samarinda and Palangka Raya, with the age range being from 13 -25. Two workshops will be held in the Eastern Kalimantan region (one in Sangatta for public middle and high school students aged 13-18 years, one in Samarinda for university aged students) and one in Central Kalimantan - in Palangka Raya, for 13-18 year olds. All participants are either public school and/or English literacy students.

The final activities will be created in conjunction with the US Embassy Jakarta PAS in Jakarta; the U.S./Indonesian artist team will travel to the capital together to lead a one-day explanatory train the trainer workshop and then take part in a celebratory lecture/talk co-hosted with the U.S. Embassy.
