Jimin Choi (South Korea)

“I'm Jimin Choi, a curious researcher from Busan, South Korea. I experienced an internship in Portland by participating in the Korean government program WEST. Currently, I am studying history at a university. After living in the United States and having a lot of experience, I became very interested in international business and trade. So after graduation, I'm going to do something related to exchange and import and export between Korea and other countries. I look forward to meeting diverse people and developing a global perspective!

A few days before leaving Portland, I traveled to Silver Falls State Park with (H2M’s Director of International Programs) Jonathan and Mars, my friend. I could see 5 waterfalls together, do tracking, and enjoy the natural scenery of Portland! Before returning to Korea, I had a lot of worries about my future and career, but I was able to put down my worries and have a happy time while seeing so many beautiful waterfalls and Portland's nature.

And thanks to H2M, I was able to participate in the Risk/Reward Festival as a staff member, and it was such an amazing experience. I saw a lot of performances and drag queen workshops for the first time in my life. Also, I had a great time meeting and talking with various artists and hanging out together. These were experiences that I would not have had if I had been in Korea. Most importantly, the free wines I tasted there were so delicious!!”
